How to Use the A/B Testing Feature
Introduction
The A/B Testing feature allows you to compare multiple quiz versions to determine which one performs best. By splitting traffic between different quiz variants, you can analyze completion rates, engagement, and lead generation to optimize your quiz performance.
This feature is especially useful for testing variations such as:
- Different quiz designs
- Alternative question flows
- Different product recommendation logic
- Unique copy or visuals
By running controlled experiments, you can make data-driven decisions that improve conversions and user engagement.
⚡ Note: The A/B Testing feature is available only on the Pro and Unlimited plans.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Step 1: Open the A/B Testing Section
- Log in to your Quizell dashboard.
- In the left sidebar, click A/B Testing.

This will open the A/B Testing dashboard where you can create and manage experiments.
Step 2: Create a New A/B Test
Click Create A/B Test.
You will then be prompted to configure your test.

Step 3: Name Your Test and Select Quiz Variants
In the New Testing window:
- Enter a Testing Name to help identify your experiment.
- Select the quiz variants you want to compare.
For example:
- Variant A: Quiz Version 1
- Variant B: Quiz Version 2
Each variant will represent a different version of the quiz you want to test.
Once selected, click Continue.

Step 4: Set Traffic Distribution
Next, you will define how traffic is split between the quiz variants.
For example:
- Variant A → 50% traffic
- Variant B → 50% traffic
You can adjust this distribution depending on your testing strategy.
Once configured, click Create A/B Test. Your test will immediately become active.

Step 5: Embed the A/B Test on Your Website
After creating the test:
- Click Get Embed Code

- Copy the provided embed script
- Paste the code into your website where the quiz should appear
This embed code automatically handles traffic distribution between your quiz variants.

Step 6: Monitor Test Performance
To track results:
- Click Analytics within your A/B Test

- Review the Variants Overview
The analytics dashboard displays metrics such as:
- Traffic distribution
- Completed quizzes
- Completion rate
- Leads generated
- Average completion time
- Drop-off rate

These insights help determine which quiz version performs best.
You can also filter results by selecting a specific date range.

Best Practices for A/B Testing
Test One Major Change at a Time
Changing too many elements at once makes it difficult to identify what caused performance differences.
Allow Enough Traffic
Wait until each variant receives sufficient traffic before drawing conclusions.
Test Meaningful Variations
Examples of good tests include:
