How to Enable and Use the Trivia Feature

Introduction

Quizell’s Trivia feature allows you to turn any quiz into an interactive trivia experience by defining correct answers and tracking user performance. When enabled, quiz takers receive instant visual feedback after each question, and you gain access to detailed trivia results such as correct answers, incorrect answers, and score percentage.

This feature is ideal for:

  • Educational quizzes
  • Knowledge tests
  • Brand engagement quizzes
  • Gamified experiences

In this guide, you’ll learn how to enable Trivia, define correct answers, and use trivia results as personalization elements on your quiz’s Static Result Page.

Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Trivia Feature

Step 1: Open Your Quiz Settings

  1. Open the quiz you want to edit.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click Settings.

  1. Navigate to the Trivia tab in the top settings menu.

Step 2: Enable Trivia Mode

When you first open the Trivia tab, Trivia is disabled by default.

  1. Click Enable Trivia.
  2. The Trivia toggle will turn on, unlocking answer configuration for your quiz.

Don’t forget to click Save Changes once Trivia is enabled.

Step 3: Define the Correct Answers

Once Trivia is enabled, you’ll see a list of your quiz questions.

For each question:

  1. Expand the question.
  2. Select the correct answer by checking the box next to it.
  3. Repeat this process for all questions you want to include in the trivia scoring.

You can update or change correct answers at any time.

Trivia User Experience (UX)

When Trivia is enabled, quiz takers will experience enhanced feedback during the quiz:

  • Correct answers are highlighted in green
  • Incorrect answers are highlighted in red
  • A short animation visually confirms whether the selected answer was right or wrong

This immediate feedback makes the quiz more engaging and improves completion rates by giving users a clear sense of progress and achievement.

Step 4: View Trivia Results in Customer Profiles

After a quiz is completed, Trivia results are automatically stored for each user.

To view them:

  1. Go to Customers → Profiles.
  2. Open a quiz participant’s profile.

You’ll see a dedicated Trivia Score section displaying:

  • Number of correct answers
  • Number of incorrect answers
  • Correct answer percentage

This data helps you analyze user performance and engagement.

Step 5: Show Trivia Results on the Static Result Page

Trivia data can also be displayed directly on your quiz’s Static Result Page using personalization.

Select a Static Result Page

  1. Open your quiz in the Editor.
  2. Navigate to the final page (Result Page).
  3. Under Select a result page type, choose Static Page.

Add Trivia Personalization

  1. Click on a Text element on the Static Page.
  2. In the left-side panel, click Add Personalisation.

  1. Select any of the available Trivia fields, such as:

  • Trivia Correct Answers
  • Trivia Incorrect Answers
  • Trivia Correct Percentage

These values will dynamically update for each quiz taker based on their performance.

Example:

“You answered {{Trivia Correct Answers}} questions correctly — that’s {{Trivia Correct Percentage}}%!”

Final Notes

  • Trivia works seamlessly with existing quizzes — no need to rebuild your content
  • You can combine Trivia with lead capture, product matching, or static result pages
  • Trivia personalization is available for emails and result pages, enabling fully dynamic experiences
