How to Use the “Other” Answer Option in Your Quiz

Introduction

The “Other” option allows you to collect custom, open-ended answers from users when predefined choices are not enough.

This is useful when:

• You want to capture edge cases or unique responses
• You don’t want to limit users to fixed options
• You want to gather additional qualitative insights

When selected, users can type their own answer directly inside the quiz.

Step-by-step guide

1. Open your question settings

• Open your quiz in the editor
• Below the page preview, select the question where you want to add the option
• In the right panel, under the Content tab, click Tab Options

2. Add the “Other” option

• In the right panel, scroll down below the answer list
• Turn on the Include “Other” option toggle

This will automatically add an “Other” choice to the end of your answer list. Note: The “Other” option is available for Tab options only.

3. Preview the experience

• Click Preview (top right)
• Go to your question and select the Other option

You will see an input field appear where users can type their own answer.

4. Save your quiz

• Click Save to apply your changes

That’s it!

Your question now includes an “Other” option with a custom input field.
