How to Customize Dropdown Questions in Quizell

Introduction


Quizell allows you to fully customize dropdown-style questions to match your brand and improve the user experience.

Using the quiz editor, you can control option types, dropdown styles, placeholder text, colors, and search behavior all in real time.


This guide walks you through customizing a dropdown question step by step, following the exact flow inside the Quizell editor.


Step-by-Step Setup Guide


Step 1: Open Your Quiz from the Quizell Dashboard


  1. Log in to your Quizell dashboard.
  2. Click on Quizzes.
  3. Select and open the quiz you want to edit.





Step 2: Select a Dropdown Question


  1. Open an existing question or add a new one.
  2. From the Options type panel, select Dropdown.
  3. The dropdown input appears in the quiz preview.





Step 3: Customize Dropdown Background Color


  1. In the left settings panel, scroll to Default state styles.
  2. Click Dropdown Background Color.
  3. Choose a color to style the dropdown field.





Step 4: Set Dropdown Placeholder Text


  1. Locate the Dropdown placeholder field.
  2. Enter the placeholder text you want users to see.
  3. The placeholder updates instantly in the preview.





Step 5: Enable Search Inside Dropdown Options


  1. Toggle Search text in dropdown list.
  2. A search input appears inside the dropdown.
  3. Users can now quickly search through options.
  4. Review your dropdown styling and behavior.
  5. Click Save in the top-right corner to apply changes.
