How to Add Open-Ended Questions to Your Quiz
Introduction
Open-ended questions are a powerful way to collect detailed feedback or insights from your quiz participants. Unlike multiple-choice questions, they allow respondents to express their thoughts freely, giving you richer, qualitative data.
This guide walks you through adding an open-ended question to your Quizell quiz.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open the Quiz Editor
- Log in to your Quizell account.
- Locate the quiz you want to edit.

- Open it in the Quiz Editor.
Step 2: Add a Lead Page
- In the bottom-right corner, click the “+” button.

- Select Lead Page from the options.
- This creates a new lead page where you can collect user input.

Step 3: Add and Configure a Lead Input
- On the new lead page, open the Lead Input options from the left-side menu.

- In the Create New Input section:
- Enter a name for your input field.
- Choose Text or Textarea as the input type.
- Text is best for short responses.
- Textarea is ideal for longer, open-ended answers.

- Click Add New Input to save your custom field.

- Under Custom Inputs, select the input you just created to add it to your page.

Step 4: Customize Your Question
- In the editor, click the new input field on your page to open its settings.

- Personalize the field by updating:
- Placeholder text (e.g., “Share your thoughts here…”).
- Fonts, colors, padding and alignment to match your quiz design.
- Required field toggle if you want every participant to provide an answer.

Additional Tips
