How to Send Emails to User Segments

Introduction


Segmenting your audience is one of the most powerful ways to deliver personalized and relevant email content. With Quizell, you can automatically group users based on their quiz responses and trigger email flows tailored to their interests, needs, or profile.


Follow this guide to create segments and use them inside your email automations.


Step-by-Step Setup Guide


Step 1: Create a Segment


  1. In your Quizell dashboard, navigate to Customers.
  2. Click the Segments tab.
  3. Select Add Segment.



  1. Enter a Name for your segment (e.g., Skin Type: Dry, Fitness Goal: Muscle Gain).



  1. Choose the quiz you want to target from the dropdown menu.



Add Your First Condition


  1. Choose the Quiz Question you want to filter by.
  2. Select the Quiz Answer that should qualify a user for this segment.
  3. Click Update Segment to save your definition.



🎉 Success! Any lead that selects this answer will automatically be added to your segment — no manual work required.


Advanced Segment Definition (Optional)


Create more complex rules using the following logic tools:


  • AND

Adds another condition that must also be true.

→ The user needs to meet all conditions to join the segment.



  • OR

Adds multiple valid conditions within one definition.

→ The user needs to meet at least one of the OR conditions.


đź’ˇ Example:

Segment = users who selected “Dry Skin” AND (are “18–30 years old” OR “31–45 years old”).



Step 2: Use the Segment in Your Email Flow


  1. Go to the Email Automation section.
  2. Locate the flow you want to target using segmentation.
  3. Click the three dots next to the flow and select Edit.



Configure the Flow Trigger


  1. In the Flow Editor, click the Trigger Box at the top.
  2. Change the trigger from All Quiz Leads to Specific Segments.
  3. In the dropdown, select the segment you created.
  4. Click Save to apply the new targeting rules.



🎉 That’s it!


Your flow will now only trigger for users who match your segment conditions. This ensures that your email campaigns reach the right audience with the right message — boosting engagement, conversions, and user satisfaction.
