# What Is Quizell Smart Search & Menu? (and how it's different from Quizell)

## Introduction

**Quizell Smart Search & Menu is a separate Shopify app from Quizell.** They're built by the same team and share a help center, but they are two different products with their own installation, settings, and billing. (You may also know this app by its brand name, **Shopify AI Search**.)

If you're looking for help with quizzes, forms, funnels, or the AI Sales Agent, you're in the wrong place — those belong to **Quizell** (the quiz, form & funnel builder). This article, and the rest of these categories, cover **Quizell Smart Search & Menu**.

> **Quick rule of thumb:** Quizell = quizzes, funnels, and the AI Sales Agent. Quizell Smart Search & Menu = AI-powered search and a mobile menu bar for your Shopify store.

## Two different products

**Quizell**

* A quiz, form, and funnel builder for e-commerce brands.
* Includes product-recommendation quizzes, lead capture, the AI Design Editor, and the AI Sales Agent.
* Managed in the Quizell dashboard.

**Quizell Smart Search & Menu** (this app)

* A Shopify app that adds **AI-powered search** and a **mobile menu bar** to your storefront.
* Managed inside your Shopify admin, under **Apps → Quizell Smart Search & Menu**.

They do not share quizzes, settings, plans, or billing. Installing or subscribing to one does not affect the other.

## What Smart Search & Menu does

The app has two main pillars:
* **AI Search** — turns your store's search bar into a smart shopping assistant. It understands natural language, handles typos, lets you control which product properties matter most, and lets you curate results with pinned products, synonyms, and redirects.
* **Mobile Menu** — a customizable bottom navigation bar for mobile shoppers, with menu items like Home, Catalog, Cart, Account, and More, plus styling, sizing, and behavior controls.

It also includes **Analytics**, **Settings** (custom code, languages, and more), and its own **Plans**.

## Where to manage it

Smart Search & Menu lives inside your **Shopify admin**, not the Quizell dashboard:

1. In Shopify admin, open **Apps**.
2. Select **Quizell Smart Search & Menu**.

You'll find these sections in the app's left menu:

* **Search** — AI search settings and the Search Bar Editor
* **Menus** — create and customize your mobile menu bar
* **Analytics** — menu and search engagement
* **Pricing Plans** — your current plan and upgrade options
* **Settings** — custom code, HTML selectors, and languages

## How it's installed and billed

* Smart Search & Menu is installed from the **Shopify App Store**, separately from Quizell.
* Billing is handled **through Shopify**, on its own plan (Free for development stores, or Pro). See *Analytics & Plans* for details.
* Your Quizell subscription and your Smart Search & Menu subscription are completely independent.

## Important note: the mobile menu is mobile-only

The mobile menu is designed for **mobile devices only** — it does not display on desktop. When you're testing, check on a mobile device or your browser's mobile view. (AI Search works across devices.)
