# How to Connect Quizell with Google Analytics

## **Introduction**

Connecting **Quizell** with **Google Analytics** allows you to track how users interact with your quizzes. By sending quiz events to Google Analytics, you can monitor engagement, analyze user behavior, and identify opportunities to improve your quiz performance.

With this integration, you can track key metrics such as:
* Quiz views
* Quiz starts
* Question interactions
* Quiz completions
* Drop-off points

These insights help you better understand how users move through your quiz and where optimizations can increase conversions.

# **Step-by-Step Setup Guide**

## **Step 1: Open the Integrations Page**

1. Log in to your **Quizell dashboard**.
2. Navigate to the **Integrations** section.
3. Locate **Google Analytics** in the list of available integrations.
4. Click **Connect** or **Set Up**.

## **Step 2: Find Your Google Analytics Measurement ID**

To connect Google Analytics, you’ll need your **Measurement ID**.

1. Open your **Google Analytics account**.
2. In the left sidebar, click **Admin**.
3. Under your property, select **Data Streams**.
4. Click the **Web data stream** you want to use.
5. Copy the **Measurement ID**.

It will look similar to: G-XXXXXXXXXX

⚠️ **Note:** Quizell uses **Google Analytics 4 (GA4)**. Universal Analytics tracking IDs (UA-XXXX) are no longer supported.

## **Step 3: Add Your Measurement ID in Quizell**

1. Return to the **Google Analytics integration settings** in Quizell.
2. Paste your **Measurement ID** into the provided field.
3. Click **Save** or **Connect** to complete the setup.

Your Google Analytics integration is now active.

## **Step 4: Verify the Connection**

To confirm the integration is working correctly:

1. Open your quiz and **preview or publish it**.
2. Go to **Google Analytics → Realtime Reports**.
3. Interact with your quiz (start it, answer questions, complete it).
4. Check that activity appears in the realtime dashboard.

If events appear, the integration is successfully configured.

Once connected, Quizell automatically sends key events to Google Analytics.

### **Events Sent to Google Analytics**

| **Quiz Viewed** | When a user loads the quiz |
| **Quiz Started** | When the user begins answering questions |
| **Question Answered** | When a user selects an answer |
| **Quiz Completed** | When the user finishes the quiz |

You can use these events in Google Analytics to:

* Create **conversion events**
* Analyze **user engagement**
* Identify **drop-off points in the quiz flow**

### **Create Conversion Events**

Mark **Quiz Completed** as a conversion event in Google Analytics to measure how effectively your quizzes drive engagement or lead generation.

### **Analyze Drop-Off Points**

Use **Question Answered events** to identify where users stop progressing through the quiz.

### **Combine with UTM Tracking**

Adding **UTM parameters** to your quiz links allows you to track where your quiz traffic originates.
