# How to connect Klaviyo to your Quizell account

## **Introduction**

Connecting **Klaviyo** to your **Quizell account** allows you to automatically send quiz leads and customer data to your email marketing platform. Once integrated, you can trigger automated flows, personalize email campaigns using quiz answers, and build powerful segmentation strategies.

With this integration, you can:

* Automatically add quiz leads to a **Klaviyo list**
* Trigger **automated email flows** when a quiz is completed
* Personalize emails using **quiz answers and product recommendations**
* Improve engagement with **targeted follow-ups**

This guide will walk you through connecting Klaviyo to Quizell step by step.

# **Step-by-Step Setup Guide**

## **Step 1: Add the Klaviyo Integration**

1. Log in to your **Quizell Dashboard**.
2. Navigate to the **Integrations** section.
3. Find **Klaviyo** in the list of integrations.
4. Click **View Integration**.

5. On the Integration Details page, click **Manage** to start the setup.

## **Step 2: Connect Your Klaviyo Account**

1. Click **Connect Klaviyo**.
2. Sign in to your **Klaviyo account**.
3. Authorize Quizell to access your Klaviyo workspace.

Once authorization is complete, Quizell will be connected to your Klaviyo account.

## **Step 3: Find and Add Your List ID**

Next, you need to choose the Klaviyo list where quiz leads will be sent.

### **To find your List ID in Klaviyo:**

1. Open **Klaviyo**
2. Navigate to **Audience → Lists & Segments**
3. Select the list you want to use (for example: *Quiz Leads*)
4. Open the **Settings** tab
5. Copy the **List ID**

Return to **Quizell** and:

1. Paste the **List ID** into the designated field
2. Click **Save**

## **Step 4: Connect the Integration to Your Quiz**

Once the List ID is saved:

1. Select the **quiz or quizzes** you want to connect to Klaviyo
2. Click **Save**
3. Ensure the **Klaviyo integration toggle is turned ON**

From now on, **new leads collected from those quizzes will automatically sync to your Klaviyo list.**

# **Important: Set Your Klaviyo List to Single Opt-in**

To ensure quiz leads are successfully added to your Klaviyo list, the list must be configured as **Single Opt-in**.

If your list uses **Double Opt-in**, contacts may not be added automatically unless they confirm their email subscription.

### **How to check this in Klaviyo**

1. Go to **Audience → Lists & Segments**
2. Select the list used for Quizell
3. Open the **Settings** tab > **Consent**

4. Find the **Opt-in Process** section
5. Ensure the list is set to **Single Opt-in**

After switching to Single Opt-in, new quiz leads will be added immediately to your list.

# **How to Use the Klaviyo Integration**

Once connected, you can start building **powerful email automations** based on quiz completions.

### A. Trigger Emails When a Quiz Is Completed

You can create automated flows triggered when someone finishes a quiz.

### **To set this up:**

1. In **Klaviyo**, go to **Flows**
2. Click **Create Flow**

3. Select **Your Metrics**
4. Choose **API**
5. Select the event: **Quizell Quiz Completed**

6. Save the trigger and build your automated email flow.

### B. Send Personalized Emails Using Quiz Data

Quizell sends **custom properties** to Klaviyo that you can use to personalize your emails.

Examples include:

| products | List of recommended products |
| result_link | Direct link to the quiz result page |
| quiz_repeate_time | Number of times the user has taken the quiz |

* Display **recommended products** directly in emails
* Include a **button linking back to quiz results**
* Segment users based on **their quiz answers**
* Send targeted offers depending on their responses

### C. Best Practice: Use Static Page Names for Klaviyo Segmentation

When building **segments or flows in Klaviyo based on quiz answers**, you may use the question properties sent by Quizell (such as **Q1, Q2, etc.**) as conditions.

However, by default, Quizell sends the **page name (question title)** to Klaviyo. If someone on your team later edits the wording of the question, the page name will change — which may **break Klaviyo segments or flows that rely on that property**.

To prevent this, we strongly recommend using the **Static Page Name** feature for any question used in Klaviyo segmentation.

### **Why this matters**

Using a static page name ensures that:
* Your **Klaviyo segments remain stable**
* Your **automation flows do not break**
* Your team can safely edit the question text without affecting integrations

We recommend enabling this feature for **any quiz question used in Klaviyo segmentation or flow conditions**.

# **Shopify Users: Troubleshooting Missing Data**

If quiz data is not appearing correctly in Klaviyo (for example, missing properties), the issue may be related to the **Shopify integration settings**.

To resolve this:
1. Go to **Quizell → Integrations**
2. Locate the **Shopify Customers Integration**
3. Temporarily **disable the Customers Integration**

This prevents Shopify from overriding customer data and ensures Quizell sends the correct properties to Klaviyo.
